We take safety and security seriously, so all properties have a full system of mains-fed, interlinked smoke detectors (heat detectors in kitchens). Smoke Detectors – It is your responsibility to ensure the smoke detector has a working back up battery, BUT we would prefer you to tell us the minute the first warning battery low beep is heard and we will be round the next working day to supply and fit a replacement battery at no cost to you.
Most smoke detectors are now fitted with a 10 year anti-tamper battery so no need to worry

All external doors have thumb turns on the inside so that escape can be made without having to search for a key in the case of fire.
All bedroom doors have locks on, with either thumb turns or night latch type locks, again so that you can get out of the room without the need of a key.
All houses have Gas Safe Certificates which are updated every year, and they all have NICEIC Electrical Safety Certificates updated in accordance with the report, or every 5 years whichever is sooner.
All windows and doors are well maintained.
